SANE is a yearly one-day event gathering researchers and students in speech and audio from the Northeast of the American continent, typically held in October. The last edition was held on Thursday October 24, 2019 at Columbia University in New York City, NY, and gathered 200 participants. Previous SANE workshops were held Mitsubishi Electric Research Labs - MERL (2012), Columbia University (2013), MIT CSAIL (2014), Google NY (2015), MIT's McGovern Institute for Brain Research (2016), Google NY, (2017), and Google Cambridge (2018). Each year, SANE features invited talks by leading researchers from the Northeast, as well as from the international community. It also features a lively poster session during lunch time, open to both students and researchers.
