The Swarnaad School of Indian Music was founded in 1999 by Sanjay Patel, a gifted teacher, performer and devoted advocate for the promotion of Indian music and culture. In 1992 Mr. Patel played tabla with the Commonwealth Musical Group for a gala concert in celebration of 40 years of the reign of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II'. He also worked in the U.K. as a music instructor for tabla and harmonium at the London borough of Ealing, Brent, Harrow. His work can also be heard on several BBC television programs, Akashvani, Dur Darshan, Amedabad, India; Z-TV and TV Asia. He has organized and presented tabla workshops all over the USA and England.
