What's the best rig for Minecraft Animation in Cinema 4D? Let's compare the Weedlion Rig, the FMR Rig, the Anishwij Rig, and the Anjello Rig to find out! The Weedlion rig is extremely common and has been around for a long time, it's the first Minecraft rig that I used in 2012 however it is heavily outdated and difficult to find nowadays. The face, in particular, is very stiff and blocky. I've provided a link below to download the Weedlion rig as the original Minecraft Forums post for it has gone down. The FMR 5 by xifrost21 is my go to Minecraft rig for beginners to Minecraft animation in Cinema 4D. It's a very beginner friendly rig that's completely free and easy to use. There are many edits online, including the FMR Animate, which is what is used by TeamWnJ. I recommend trying the FMR Animate if you're looking for a powerful rig used by our animation studio as well. FMR isn't perfect as it has it's own fair share of bugs, however FMR Animate fixes all the bugs, including the infamous FMR 5 Hand Bug. Please be aware you must be using Cinema4D R18 or below to do extrusions smoothly. The Anishwij rig is the most famous and expensive rig on the list- it has the most features and is the most advanced, however, do not confuse this and think it is the best. It's stand out feature that no other rig has is its face, everything is wired to move correctly and it really helps to sell the cartoon feeling of Minecraft Animation. However, because it is so system-intensive, most beginners won't be able to take full advantage of it. Not to mention features on Minecraft Rigs like Smart move, Auto walk, Head Tracking, and Lip Syncing are either available for free or aren't used that often by professionals anyway. Finally, the Anjello rig is what I consider to be the BEST Minecraft Rig for Cinema 4D. It combines all the great features of the Anishwij rig with the lightweightness of the FMR rigs. Meaning it's friendly for beginners to use and can run on computer's that aren't as good.
