Aborted Landing starts at 5:45 My trip to Funchal really didn't go as planned, when we departed Manchester, FNC was showing light winds, sunny skies and warm temps. However by the time our aircraft, G-JZHO reached FNC, the conditions had become much worse with very low cloud, drizzle and rain. We entered a hold at fix ABUSU and remained there for 40 minutes before the captain opted to divert to Porto Santo, however midway through this process the conditions appeared to improve, so we began an approach to Runway 05 at FNC, things looked good as we dropped out the clouds with the airport in sight, then in a few seconds all visibility was lost and the captain then opted to abort the landing and land at PXO which we did around 5 minutes later! Genuinely cannot believe this happened, but I must say, massive props to the crew for handling the situation extremely well, as you'll see in my next few videos! Thanks for watching!
