That’s because the company is now synonymous with animated feature films, although that wasn’t always the case. Pixar has changed a lot in its several decades as a company. Some changes are pretty obvious, like the improved computers they’re working with today, their increased hiring standards, and the improved visual quality of their films. Other changes, like getting bought out by Disney, backing away from television, and making more sequels and prequels, all have to do with the business side of Pixar. From a creative perspective, they’re making far more generational movies and are making far more meta jokes. Of course it’s also undeniable that they now have way less drama today and are at the absolute forefront of the animation medium. Pixar has become the giant it is today by adapting and changing to match the situations it faces. Thankfully, most of these changes have been for the better and led to the creation of some truly remarkable and inspirational movies.
