Update: Nest has changed its cloud storage pricing. Now, 30 days costs $6 a month or $60 a year and 60 days costs $12 a month or $120 a year. They also now offer professional installation for the Nest Hello for $99.99. Nest Secure has been discontinued and is no longer available for purchase on the Google store, but existing systems will continue to function normally. I have a ton of Nest products, so naturally I’m very excited to see how the #NestHello video doorbell works. Of course, its main purpose is to let you answer your door from anywhere at any time. You’ll be able to see and actually speak to your visitor using the camera’s two-way audio. The camera also has amazing artificial intelligence capabilities in the form of person detection and even familiar face alerts if you sign up for Nest Hello. These features make your notifications smarter and more specific, not just that your Nest Hello detected motion but that your friend Sally is at the door. Not surprisingly, the #NestHello also works with Google Assistant, allowing you to command your doorbell using your voice only. But at $229, is the Nest Hello worth it?
