Union home minister Rajnath Singh has said though former PM Manmohan Singh denied permission for the anti-satellite mission it was Narendra Modi who has granted permission for the missile for our self-defence, which made India the fourth country in the world to have used such a weapon. While addressing a meeting here on Sunday, Rajnath Singh said that PM Modi struck back the terrorist camp in Pakistan soon after the Pulwama attack. He said that the Congress, apart from questioning the bravery of the army, was worried about Modi getting appreciation for the attack. He noted that after the 1971 war with Pakistan, Atal Bihari Vajpayee appreciated Indira Gandhi. Rajnath Singh questioned why the Congress is not appreciating Modi for the attack. Rajnath Singh said that though the Congress was in power in the country for 55 years, the people of Tamil Nadu have ousted the Congress from power long back in the state. But, it came back through the back door by dissolving the governments and by bringing in President’s rule in the state thrice during the reign of the late DMK leader M Karunanidhi and AIADMK leader M G Ramachandran. He said that the Congress is a sinking ship without a leadership and he questioned as to why the DMK has formed an alliance with the Congress. He said that the people would reject the DMK-Congress alliance and they want Narendra Modi to become the PM again. Listing out a few schemes which were implemented by the BJP government during the past five years, Rajnath Singh said that steps would be taken by the BJP government to protect Tamil Nadu’s identity, culture and heritage.
