The Future of Interface Group, part of the Human Computer Interaction Institute at Carnegie Mellon University, have developed a computer chip that goes beyond traditional Internet of Things (IoT) and smart environment sensory technology. There are a total of seven metrics detected by the super sensor: electromagnetic interference and heat and humidity, among others. To achieve a smart environment “without direct instrumentation of objects” and “virtualize raw sensor data into actionable feeds” was the aim of the team of scientists who developed the sensor. The long-term goal is to also employ the sensor in various work environments. Facebook: Twitter: Instagram: Linkedin:
