AMD's Threadripper 1920X 12-core CPU is now cheaper than ever, but the question is whether it's worth it, at this point, when compared to newer options like the R5 3600. Pricing has since dropped to about $200, and our goal was to determine whether -- now at price parity with the R5 3600 -- the 1920X still holds value. You get extra memory channels and more cores and threads, but that's not meaningful in all applications. A lot of the viability of the 1920X in 2019 will depend on what your use cases are, and if a specific need isn't already in mind, it may not be a good fit. Still, there are some benchmarks in our revisit / review where it may prove a good value.
