Caris LeVert might have been well on his way to becoming an NBA All-Star this season before going down with that nasty foot injury. Not only that, but in many an article and interview, he was stated as being one of the franchise cornerstones. By all accounts, he’s a great off the court guy who wishes everyone success, and that selflessness translates onto the court in a major way because that’s the type of player you want to see succeed even if you are competing against them (both from an opponent standpoint but also even if you are trying to take minutes from them). The former Wolverine was drawing some comparisons to the former regular season and 2 time Finals MVP Kevin Durant in his time in college; his nickname at Michigan was “Baby Durant”. When he got a chance to work with his future teammate in 2017, KD told him “just be ready. Be ready for the moment.” and it looks like LeVert took those words to heart. The rebuilding Brooklyn Nets broke out early this season, in no small part because of the All-Star buzz that Caris was creating for himself. That was the shot you wanted, and no one was able to get you off of it. Never feel rushed." You can see that in many aspects of Caris’ game.
