Failure is just a part of life. It is not the end. Watch this short story to learn this beautiful value of life. Be Confident Dane, Justin and Max had been best friends since second grade, and aDane, Justin and Max always played together and were huge rugby fans. They practiced every day and were good onthe field as well. Even the coach was proud of them and always praised their performance. The inter-school rugby competition was about to come. The coach decided to make all the boys perform, to select members for the final team. After the selection practice, Justin was chosen as the team captain. Dane and Max were excited about it. Soon, they began practicing. Everyone in the team worked very hard. They were confident about the team, and the three friends had become the hope of the school. On the day of the competition, all the members gave their bestto win. However, the other team had prepared much better than them. They lost the competition and were given a consolation prize. Everyone at school was disappointed and criticized their performance and overconfidence. They called them names like, ‘losers’ and ‘failures.’ Some even began to predict whether they would be a part of the next competition. This was a big blow to their confidence. Of all the boys, Dane, Justin and Max were particularly sad and confused. One day, the coach sent someone to call them to the ground. Theboys were worried that they might be kicked off the team. All the team members met them at the ground. The coach said, “It was sad and disappointing to see you boyslose the match. Tomorrow, I want you to submit an essay of about hundred words on any of these personalities - Albert Einstein, Walt, Disney or Henry Ford.” The boys looked at each other confused, but followed the coach’s order. The next day, all of them gathered in the gym with their essays. Each boy was called out to read his essay on his chosen personality. COACH: “Now, think about all these famous people and tell me what’s the one thing common in them.” Everyone thought for a while. One boy stood up and said, “They were all famous and rich.” “Yes, but what else was a significant part of their lives?” asked the coach. No one was able to come up with anything. They kept thinking againand again, but couldn’t figure out the puzzle. Suddenly, Justin stood up, “Sir, all of them were famous,but there was a time when they had to go through failures. Henry Ford failed and went broke five times, but he finally succeeded. COACH: “Yes, Albert Einstein’s teacherssaid that he couldn’t learnanything, but he went on tobecome the greatest scientist.Walt Disney had been fired from his job for lack of ideas, but later on, he built Disneyland.” STUDENT: “Yes! All of them had beenrejected and criticized by everyone, but their years of hard work paid off, and they had the most successful lives in the world.” COACH: “You are right. All the greatest people have faced failures and disappointments in their lives. But they got up and worked harder on their weak points. They did not allow anyone to bring them down.” The boys felt encouraged and the coach told them about the upcoming championship. They began to discuss their weak points and how to improve them. They worked harder than before for weeks and on the day of the championship, they ended up winning the match. The boys had learned to learn from their mistakes and bounce back with confidence.
