Dr. Mininder Kocher is an orthopedic surgeon with the Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Center and chief of the Division of Sports Medicine at Boston Children's Hospital. His clinical practice focuses on sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery of the knee, shoulder, hip, elbow, and ankle. Dr. Kocher says, “In sports medicine, we've faced some unique problems and unique injuries. That's actually a fun part of the job, to be faced with a challenge where there isn’t something in a textbook. “I love taking care of kids and adolescents. Their motivation is just very pure ¾ they get hurt, they want to get better, they want to get back to being active. Having played sports growing up helps me take better care of my patients. I think I have a better understanding of how important that injury is and how devastating it can be. I like fixing them to get them back to their sport, but I also like fixing them so they can get back to their life, which is really rewarding.” Learn more about Boston Children’s Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Center: http://www.childrenshospital.org/centers-and-services/centers/orthopedic-center/overview
