From secret nuclear bunkers in Greenland to spying using psychic abilities, here are 10 strangest military projects Subscribe to American Eye http://goo.gl/GBphkv 6. Operation Iceworm One of the strangest experimental military projects took place by the US army in 1958 during the cold war.called operation Iceworm. The government began to look at the desolate ice sheets of Greenland for a possible base to place nuclear weapons. Greenland had a strategic advantage s to it. Not only was it fairly close to the Soviet Union, no one would even know. The vast arctic wasteland was carved up, tunnels were constructed through the ice in a confidential location called Camp Century, in Northwestern Greenland that you see on this map. The government claimed it to simply be a research facility but why would they put a nuclear reactor here! The camp was complete with a hospital, movie theater, laboratory and living quarters for about 200 people. As the ice sheets began simply drifting away faster than they had originally planned, the camp was abandoned. Could the nuclear reactor here really be what’s causing Greenland’s ice sheets to melt and they’re using global warming as a coverup!? 4.Atlas-I Electromagnetic Pulse Simulator After the Americans knew the Russians had capabilities of electromagnetic pulse, they conducted a series of tests in response to see how their equipment would hold up. This mainly took place at the Kirtland Air Force Base in New Mexico. Even after atmospheric testing was banned in 1963, during an act of war, they knew it was definitely still possible. Here in this image we see a strange test being conducted on a B 52 Stratofortress hooked up to the Atlas I electromagnetic pulse simulator. This would essentially a platform that can deliver 10 million volts of electricity at once. It’so one of the world’s largest wooden structures and cost 60 million dollars to produce. Other planes were tested on this platform and there’s no word on whether or not this completely blew up the electrical system in the plane or not. 3. Operation Whitecoat So if you were given to the choice to either be sent onto the frontlines of the Vietnam War, or be injected with an experimental vaccine against biological weapons, what would you choose!? The secret laboratory known as Fort Detrick in Maryland had a received a few participants from religious people that chose to be pacifists. This took place for roughly 19 years until 1973. This lab has a dark reputation for conducting shady experiments that could essentially turn people into zombies. The volunteers were injected with what’s now known as Q fever, which didn’t kill anyone but made them quite sick for an extended period of time. The researchers would then try to test out cures for this disease on these participants. 2. Airplane Cloaking Scientists at the university of San Diego claim to have made a breakthrough with scientific technology in order to essentially make airplanes turn completely i nvisible! We remember the Philadelphia Experiment during world war II where many witnesses claim to have seen the USS Eldridge actually turn invisible and then teleport! So with all the advancements in technology throughout the ages, could technology like this be actually used and eventually perfected? By constructing planes out of certain super thin nano material then engaging it with electromagnetic waves, the plane could theoretically no longer give off visible light. This photo was taken of a jet fighter that appears to be using it’s cloaking device. Could something like this be tested at area 51?
