Created by Freeman Talla Thi is an electrical/control system for an automated, conveyor-driven, transportation system used to transport the raw materials used in a steel recycling plant from the loading area to the arc furnace and then to the final casting location. Both the primary components (conveyors/motors, sensors types/locations, etc.) and the basic operational characteristics of the system have been specified; The design/specification of the electrical/control system for the PLC-based, automated transport-system included the ladder-logic program that provides the proper operational logic for the system. Main system components include transformers, contactors, VFDs, Motors, and RX 5000 Allen Bradley PLC. Modes of operation include system start-up, normal operation, system shutdown and emergency shutdown each of which is activated by one or a combination of push-buttons triggering a buzzer and safety light to operate with unique and distinct frequencies and duty cycle in a set pattern.
