HP: Anthony Fernandez, Andres Ferrerira, Nicole Fierro, Mikol Escobar Hewlett-Packard is a unique company, started in a garage by two friends who were basically family. They grew by believing in their products, treating their employees like family and always doing the best for their customers. Not only did they grow as a company but also they helped Silicon Valley grow as a region into the innovative place it is today. The current CEO is Meg Whitman, alumnus of Princeton and Harvard Business School. Recently Hewlett-Packard split into Hewlett-Packard Enterprise and HP, Inc. The HP Enterprise is focused on product and service organization while HP, Inc. is the computer and printer business. The enterprise works in servers, storage, networking, consulting and support, services, software, and financial services. HP, Inc. is focusing more on consumers who improve their computers frequently and spend more money on games. Bill and Dave started with just a sound oscillator to now developing and manufacturing PCs, networking hardware, computer storage and delivering services. From doing prototypes in their garage alone in the 1930s to now having more than 317,500 employees, they have expanded their business to the global level. Not only do they have the incredible innovation in the technological sense but they also started a new way to treat employees, which is still followed. They were the first company to introduce flextime policy to encourage work-life balance. Along with creating the HP way, which would pave the way to how many other companies started treating their employees. This project was developed as part of the course requirements in Mechanical Design II course.
