Absolutely brilliant interacting with all the community from all across the World. This site is not a beauty vlog, but a dermatology and scientific channel. Videos give patients an insight to demystify the art and science of skin. Video also illustrate the thought process that a procedural dermatologist goes through on a daily basis to give bespoke treatment plans for each patient. As a laser and facial reconstruction – facial rejuvenation specialist, I operate, laser, incorporate energy devices such as RF and high intensity ultrasound, use dermal fillers, fat and stem cell grafting, chemical peels and Botox. The procedures within the procedures are almost endless, fillers in the nose, tear troughs, reconstruction of bone for the jawline, the list goes on. For each ‘subtopic’ to be covered on YouTube is never ending. Those of you who are YouTubers and content creators you know the time it takes to film, download, open editing software, edit – especially for confidentiality reasons, subtitle videos, check, clip, produce the video, before the time-consuming process of uploading to YouTube, adding key words, writing this synopsis, adding end screens, cards, and playlist- and that is for every video – even this short one. So to give more information to patients in between my YouTube clips I am now active on Instagram. This platform is trending upwards, I can give a short synopsis of any procedure I do – essentially film and upload as I work without - one take- one minute and to the point. I cover everything from the latest in acne scar revision procedures, to basic skin care tips, routines and skin care products. I can also link any important event to relevant YouTube Clips that I have created. I post once a week on a niche specific video on YouTube, whilst on IG, I can cover 28 post including videos a week. This brilliant platform also allows me to engage in many more ways than on YouTube- the sheer number of subscribers – nearing ¼ million and 43 million views means questions get lost in the sheer volume. Remember it is still me answering every question, taking, editing and posting every video. This platform allows me to make landscape videos that are more ‘professional’ than on the go videos on IG or even IGTV. Much easier to edit on a computer than on a phone!
