Gonbad - گنبد

A project by Armin Sanayei (Composer) & Namdar Majidi (Violoncello) “Gonbad” is the delineation of an ascetic on a spiritual journey. An anonymous. Maybe a Persian calligrapher who is writing a hemistich of his “book” and his entity is devoted to the movement of the stylus. Performed at the shrine and monastery of Tchalapi-Oqlou (Zanjan, Iran) Summer 2017 The building was constructed by one of the disciples of the great Iranian poet and mystic Moulana Jalaledin-Rumi in 14th century. Under the dome, it has a height of 16 meters. As the Design of the Persian Carpets, design of the most persian mosques and domes are from the same concept which will be the idea of creating a ritual garden (regarding the concept of the persian garden). It has been suggested that concepts of the mystic philosopher Suhrawardi about the unity of existence was possibly related to this pattern at the interior side of the domes. So most of these designs consist of the idea of a mystic garden above our existence which could be also a reflection (or variation) of our world. 31.
