WATCH IN HD! It's finally here! This is El_Fabricio/the_legend's Battle of Umbara map, based upon the four episodes comprising the Umbara arc from Season 4 of Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Following in the same vein as a lot El_Fabricio's work, this map is a space to ground map, allowing for the transition between space combat and a ground assault, which is extremely effective in this case, as the transition between space and ground was ever present in some of the episodes in the Umbara arc. The space combat has not gone unchanged, the CIS now have Umbaran Starfighters whilst the Republic now can pilot Z-95 Headhunters, which is an awesome new feature. As well as this, the Separatists can take off from a Separatist Supply Ship, like the one Jesse, Fives and Hardcase destroyed in one of the episodes. All of these vehicles have been spectacularly well modelled and are a joy to pilot. It's not just space combat that has been changed, the ground battles see a great change due to the changes in both CIS and Republic sides. The Republic now feature a new Special Ops Trooper as well as Clone Captain Rex as a commander unit whilst the CIS have a Special Forces Droid unit as well an Umbaran Soldier and Umbaran General. Both sides no longer have hero units, instead they have been replaced by ultra units which require up to 50 points to unlock. The Republic have both Anakin Skywalker, now complete with fantastic new combat animations, and General Pong Krell complete with dual double-bladed lightsabers. These new units, like the vehicles, have been fantastically modelled and are great fun to play as. The Umbaran units also have Umbaran Blaster Rifles which are great fun to use, again they too have been brilliantly modelled and textured. The map itself is a great recreation of the shadow world of Umbara, with great improvements upon the previous Umbara map released with the Sky-to-Ground Map-Pack. The lighting of the map is now perfect, allowing for good levels of visibility and cover to allow for good ground combat. The atmosphere of the planet is captured perfectly with the addition of rolling fog, as seen on the show. To add to the intricate level of detail, the Sarlacc-like Vixus creature has been added to the map, giving for an extra challenge to be aware of during combat. The map also features many of the landmarks seen in the show including the Republic Drop Zone, the Citadel and the main road leading to the capital of Umbara which was the site of one of the major battles in the arc. All in all, this is a spectacular feat of modding and a highly enjoyable map to play. I highly recommend it to all fans of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, so give it a download and check it out now.
