How to Make New York Style Pizza at Home

The recipe for this New York Style Pizza is: Pizza Dough Recipe: 1 1/4 cup of warm water 1 teaspoon sugar 2 1/4 teaspoons dry yeast 2 1/4 teaspoons salt 3 3/4 cups bread flour 2 tablespoons olive oil Put the sugar and yeast in 1/4 of the cups warm water and dissolve the sugar for 15 minutes. Add the remaining water, salt and the olive oil. Mix the flour and the water / yeast mixture in a mixture on a higher speed for about 10 minutes. Dough should be smooth. Divide the dough into 2 equal portions and place in the fridge for at least 24 hours. Pizza Sauce Recipe: 8 ounces of tomato sauce 8 ounces of crushed tomatoes 1 teaspoon dried oregano 1 teaspoon garlic powder 1 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon black pepper 1 teaspoon sugar Combine all of the pizza sauce ingredients and place aside. Preheat your oven to as hot as your oven will go, possible 500F. Make sure your pizza stone is in the oven. Turn your broiler on to high to add a bit more heat to your oven. Be sure to turn your broiler off before you place your pizza in the oven. To assembly your New York Style Pizza: Remove your pizza dough from the fridge and let it come to room temperature. Take the first dough ball and flatten with your hands. After you have a dough disc formed hold the dough by the edge and rotate. Let gravity help stretch the dough. If you're awesome enough, toss the dough in the air to stretch if further. After your dough as reached about 14", place a little corn starch on a pizza peel and place the dough on top of this. Next add your pizza sauce, and then pieces of real mozzarella cheese. After the pizza is assembled, shake the pizza off the peel and onto the hot pizza stone. Cook for about 8 minutes or until all the cheese is bubbling and starting to get light brown. Repeat for the 2nd pizza dough ball. Enjoy!
