Mainly this Channel for Engineering Students, such as Btech/BE, Diploma Engineering (Polytechnic). This Video Tutorial will be very helpful to our Engineering Students (BTech and Diploma Students). In this tutorial students can learn “ENTROPY - Basic Concept of Entropy” Entropy is a measure of the molecular disorder or randomness of a system. Gases have higher entropy than liquids, and liquids have higher entropy than solids. Higher the disorder, greater is the increase of entropy. Entropy is an extensive property of a thermodynamic system because the value of entropy depends on the mass of a system. It is denoted by S or . Entropy can be defined such that a very small change of its value (dS) equal to a ratio of the very small amount of heat transfer (dQ) to the absolute temperature (T). So, dS = dQ/T The increase in entropy is small when heat is added at high temperature and is greater when heat addition is at low temperature. As, dS = dQ/T where ds – very small change of entropy (kJ/K), dQ- very small amount heat transfer (kJ) and T – absolute temperature (K). For specific entropy (entropy per unit mass) is kJ/Kg K. Entropy of any substance is taken zero at 00 C or 273 K. All of my tutorials has widely covered the syllabus in BTech, Polytechnic, ITI and also Vocational Training in different Technical Institute. - If any query or suggestion then comment below.
