That’s the case with #DeepSentinel, a smart home security company founded in 2016 by (who else?) a former Amazon employee. The company claims that, unlike other security systems that tell you after a crime has already happened, their system prevents crimes from happening in the first place. How? Through impressive artificial intelligence capabilities, jumping past person detection and even facial recognition to differentiate suspicious from non-suspicious behavior. The company also says that their monitoring team, known as Live Sentinel Guards, responds to suspicious behaviors within 30 or 60 seconds, much shorter than with other monitoring teams. In this video, I’m going to test this out by having a “mock crime” occur. It’s safe to say that Deep Sentinel is certainly a unique security system, although it’s a bit expensive at $299 for a camera and a hub plus $29 a month for professional monitoring.
