An XY Touch Pad gives you control of two separate parameters in a single gesture, on a per-note basis. When you press the pad, the X and Y positions are sent as MIDI CC messages that can be assigned to any parameter in Equator or other synth. For instance, you could assign the X position to filter cutoff and the Y position to LFO speed. In short, this allows you to shape the notes as you play them through RISE's five "dimensions of touch". Those five dimensions of touch – Strike, Glide for pitch bend, Slide for modulation, Press for continuous touch and Lift – are easily mapped and can be controlled directly from its unique MIDI-assignable touch faders, which adjust expression sensitivity.
