Although Opposite Spiker Malwina Smarzek made her debut with Poland's national team in 2014, at the tender age of 18, her first big bang was surely at the 2018 FIVB Volleyball Nations League and the 2019 edition that followed, when she took the world by storm with her incredible high-scoring performances. The 191cm tall talent has been the Top Scorer of the competition in both editions so far of the VNL, grabbing 361 points in 2018 and smashing that record with 421 points in 2019. Her 42 points in just four sets against Bulgaria in 2019 pool play still stands as the best scoring performance in the short history of the competition and Smarzek actually appears ten times within a total of 33 entries in the list of players who have scored 30 points or more in a single VNL match.
