Control valves seem relatively simple in concept but can play a major role for various machines and applications. These devices can be utilized to control the volume, or current, of liquid or gas; usually being diverted to a specific location or tank. Valves can be set up in various ways like keeping flow constant by closing as volume increases or vice versa, letting more current pass as the volume increases. The valve body houses the device controlling flow and direction of the liquid or gas while a positioner is attached to said device relaying the degree of open or closeness the valve should be implementing. Some valves are electronically controlled; others are manually opened or closed, as well as mechanical or automatic devices that change with the varying pressures displaced within the valve body. The most common is controlled by an actuator that is designed to vary the valve openness through software measurements or from human inputs. There are many types of control valves such as ball, butterfly or plug types; there are 2-way and 3-way directional kinds too. 2-way valves have an A or B ports while a 3-way has A and B ports plus a shared AB port. #MFG #actuators #valves More info on 3-way valves can be found here: http://www.baelzna.com/3-way-control-valve/ A more in depth look into actuator and control valve types can be read through Baelz NA ebook on components.
