Should you do intermittent fasting for fat loss, especially if you're over 40? If you look at the long-term weight loss statistics, 98% of dieters gain back all the weight they lost. One of the biggest reasons for this is that people try to follow a diet that is not sustainable. A sustainable diet is one that will not only help you create a caloric deficit, but it is also easy to follow. If you want to lose fat, you need to find a diet that helps you create a caloric deficit AND manage hunger, so that you don't end up binging later. Intermittent fasting is a strategy that can help you manage hunger better. Intermittent fasting is not really a 'diet'. It's more of an eating schedule that can help you restrict your overall calories. In fact, you're already doing Intermittent Fasting right now, while you're sleeping at night. When you wake up in the morning, you're essentially 'breaking' your fast with break-fast. Some people even practice extreme versions of Intermittent fasting, such as OMAD (One Meal A Day). This can work for some people but for others, it can cause them to be so hungry that they end up GAINING weight.
