This year’s NAIDOC theme is Because of Her We Can and aims to acknowledge and recognise the important role of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women to our communities, our families, our rich history and to our nation. Aboriginal and Islander people encourage all Australians to participate and acknowledge the women that affect their lives positively. NAIDOC stands for ‘National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee’.
