Believe it or not, parents lose over 6 weeks' worth of sleep in year one with a newborn! I know the feeling all too well and this is what makes the 4moms bassinet so appealing. 0:22 4moms mamaRoo vs. 4moms mamaRoo Sleep You’ve probably heard of the 4moms mamaRoo Infant Seat, right? Well, this bassinet is everything parents love about the Mamaroo but now your baby can lie down flat and safely sleep. Whether you bounce or sway, the 4moms MamaRoo Sleep Bassinet’s movements mimic how you really move when you’re holding a baby. 0:38 Cost & Weight Limit The bassinet costs around $349 and it’s best for babies up from birth to 25 pounds or until baby can push up on their hands or knees, whichever comes first. 0:48 Accessories It comes with a firm, flat mattress that is water-resistant and spot clean only and a modern bassinet sheet that is machine washable. You can leave baby swaddled or unswaddled, and the mesh sides allow for good airflow and visibility. If you're looking for additional accessories like extra mattress sheets or a storage basket, you can purchase those separately. 1:08 Assembly What I first noticed about the bassinet is how compact and plug-and-go it really is. Set up is straightforward and toolless, which is awesome. When it comes to room sharing, the bassinet has two height options depending on the height of your bed. And although this isn’t technically considered a travel bassinet, if you’re ever in a pinch, the bassinet is able to be disassembled and collapsed down. 1:29 Movements, Sounds & App Connectivity The easy touchscreen that lights up in the dark helps you to find the perfect motion, speed and sound to create a combination that soothes baby. Similar to the mamaRoo Infant Seat, you’re able to choose from 5 different movements — Car Ride, Kangaroo, Tree Swing, Rock-a-Bye, and Wave. The speeds of these motions are adjustable, 1 being the slowest and 5 being the fastest. AND these movements can be paired with four different white noise sounds. All of these features can be accessed from the bassinet directly or from the 4moms app. Once your bassinet is synced via Bluetooth you can control the motions, speed, and sound from there too. 2:25 Timer Feature And whether the bassinet is used solo or with the app, I noticed it will only run for up to 4 hours at a time. If you’re curious like I was about why it’s that exact time limit, I found out. 4moms knew that newborns generally fall asleep within a 4-hour timeframe — so they won’t notice if the motion stops, yay. 4moms also knew that when your baby is ready to transition from the bassinet to the crib, they won’t have all the same soothing motions, so they built-in a feature to help you plan ahead! There’s an adjustable timer that you can use to start decreasing the amount of soothing happening over time to help your baby become an independent sleeper — pretty smart, right? 3:03 4moms vs. SNOO Speaking of which, if you’re researching “smart” bassinets, you may notice the 4moms bassinet seems similar to the SNOO. Aside from the price gap, the biggest difference is that the SNOO is CRY-activated which means that it picks up when baby is unsettled and starts moving to soothe baby on it’s own. Meanwhile, the 4moms bassinet is PARENT-activated which means when baby is unsettled you are the one who starts and controls the movements. — Click here to subscribe 👉 https://www.youtube.com/c/Babylist-Videos?sub_confirmation=1 Every family’s “baby must haves” are different — each week Babylist shares new baby tips, breaks down all the baby essentials and shows you how to use everything so you can own this parenting thing.
