This one is a classic, a worn prong. In most cases is not worthwhile removing the stone from the setting, and then soldering the prong. With the PUK5, work is carried out directly next to the stone, by adding and welding in a gold wire of the same alloy, the prong is rebuilt. The slight dark discolouration that is visible on the stone is only soot; this can simply be wiped away after welding. This method is a fast way to create a new, completely stable prong that will hold the stone securely.
