Virtually all inline 4 cylinders use this firing order, which is 1 3 4 2. This video is intended to specifically show the "old" Yamaha R1 firing order but it applies to 99% of motorcycles and front wheel drive cars with transverse 4 cylinder engines (except Hondas). For motorcycles "up" in the video is "forward" on the bike. For cars this is the view looking into the engine bay from the front of the car. For the purposes of comparison to the Yamaha 2009 and onwards R1 the firing interval of the engine shown here is: 1 - 180 degrees - 3 - 180 degrees - 4 - 180 degrees - 2 - 180 degrees - where degrees are crank degrees, and a complete engine cycle is 720 degrees.
