First uploaded on Jun 28, 2017 by TEDx Talks The need to include men in the feminist conversation. Highlighting that this generation of African women are the daughters of the UN conference in Beijing held in 1995. What are we doing with our inheritance from those feminists? Are we stepping up? What are some of the necessary next steps? Caroline Mutoko leads the charge in this impassioned talk. Caroline Mutoko is a force of nature. Through her radio breakfast show, she had Kenya by the ear for over a decade. Lambasting politicians for lies told, informing them of particularly bad roads that needed fixing, demanding that the price of oil come down because we could not afford it as Kenyans (and it did)... hers is not only the voice we woke up to but the voice that spoke for us. Here she highlights the importance of men in the fight against patriarchy. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
