Weldcraft – Understanding Gas Coverage

Watch this video to better understand how gas coverage works when TIG welding with a Miller® Weldcraft™ gas lens. Gas lenses improve shielding gas coverage because they lengthen the laminar flow region. This reduces turbulence and atmospheric contamination. Gas lenses also allow for greater tungsten stickout, which provides better visibility and joint access. When using gas lenses, the laminar region can also be increased by lower flow rates, longer nozzles and nozzles larger in diameter.
