Brisbane’s new runway is the completion of long-term planning for Brisbane Airport which commenced in the 1970s. Construction of the new runway began in 2012, with the official opening on Sunday 12 July 2020. This video gives an overview of the $1.1 billion project, one of the largest aviation infrastructure projects undertaken in Australia. The new runway gives Brisbane the most efficient runway system in Australia.
