How to Dougie: http://bit.ly/DOUGIE The reason this move is called the Egyptian twist is because in hieroglyphics, the figures are always turned to one side but also turned outward. Instructions 1. Stand with your feet together. Rise up on the balls of your feet. As you rise, turn to the right, bending your knees slightly to make the turn easier. This should be a bit less than a quarter turn. As soon as you've completed the turn, press your heels down into the floor. 2. To bring yourself back to a starting position, rise back up on the balls of your feet, doing less than a quarter turn left. As soon as you've completed the turn, press your heels down. This heel pressing helps to stop your turning motion. 3. To do this move in the other direction, repeat step one, turning to the left instead of to the right. To practice this move, do an eight count of it, alternating between one direction and the other. Arms Since there are no required arm movements in the Egyptian twist, try incorporating ones you learned in the previous lessons in this course. The more creative you get with it, the more of your personality comes through. And remember, you can always combine any of the moves in this course with any of the other moves to create your own unique choreography.
