Comparing the fan noise of the 1st generation PS4 Pro (CUH-7016) vs the new model (CUH-7216) - using RDR2 as a showcase. The fan of the new model is really much more quiet than the one of the CUH-70xx, though it can be louder in reality than what it may sound like in my recordings. Also I need to point out there's a rattling noise (caused by coils or whatever) audible from the new model which you can hear only quietly in the CUH-72xx without supersampling part. I'm currently working on a new video regarding that. RDR2 on the old PS4 Pro actually also seems pretty quiet - as long as supersampling is deactivated. When activating supersampling you will get that infamous jet sound from the fan... Without supersampling I'd say it sounds similar to the CUH-72xx with supersampling activated. I tried a few different games like Doom, Horizon and Monster Hunter and I've got the impression that I can achieve like 30% of the original maximum fan noise. But what's interesting is that during idle, youtube or netflix the fan of the CUH-70xx seems actually a bit more quiet. Microphone was placed like 5cm/2inch centrally in front on the PS4s.
