Ben tears apart a broken laser printer to see what parts he can salvage from it. He finds a variety of useful items from springs to opto-interrupters and muses about how the parts can be incorporated into future projects. A heap of ABS plastic is left in the wake of the teardown and gets Ben brainstorming ideas of how it could be turned into 3-D printer filament instead of going into the recycling bin. Ben ends up with a bunch of new parts! (00:09) Earth Man to the Rescue Ben drifts into a day dream that gives him the idea for today's episode. (01:39) Let the Teardown Begin! Ben gets to work dismantling the laser printer and pulling out useful parts. (08:20) Brainstorming a Filament Extruder Ben takes a break from the build to go over ideas for how the ABS plastic from the laser printer could be made into 3-D printer filament. (10:40) Digging Even Deeper Ben continues to peel back layers on the laser printer to see what he can find. (18:47) The Loot Ben shows all the goodies he striped out of the laser printer. ---------------------- Join master hacker, engineer, and conjurer of cool stuff Ben Heck as he tackles new projects each week.
