A blur allows you to make the video footage or image become out of focus. Why would you want to blur your videos? Blurring videos can hide content you don’t want to be seen, like blurring a face, object, or private information or focus on things in the videos you want your audience to see. Adding blur to the background will make the object in focus stand out. If done right, these techniques can create a cinematic quality to your shots. There are a few ways you can blur your video using Filmora. Just make sure you are using the latest version of Filmora. 1. Power Tool Tilt Shift With your footage in the timeline, if you right click and hit the power tools feature, it gives you the option of using the Tilt Shift. Now, if you don’t know what tilt-shift is, Tilt-Shift is the use of tilt for selective focus. Click the “Apply Tilt-Shift in the Clip” and it will automatically add a blur to the background with the middle part in focus. But what we want is for the entire background to be blurred, so all you need to do is adjust the tilt shift and make it as small as it can go, and then move the shift to the edge of the video. And there you have it! You have added a blur to your video. 2. Power tool Mosaic Another way you can easily add blur to your videos is to use the Mosaic option. This is also in the Power Tool feature. If you choose Mosaic, and click “Add”, It will add a box with the background pixelated. You can add and adjust the box to the size you want, which is great if you are trying to blur private information or want to blur portions of the background in your video. You can also adjust the percentage of how pixelated you want the mosaic to be. Just click okay once you have the desired amount of blur and you’re good to go!
