Garmin Explore - How To Download Maps On Your Smartphone

۵.۷ K

In this video, I'll show you how to download maps onto your smartphone using the Garmin Explore app. This won't transfer maps to your inReach or GPSMAP device. The maps stay on your smartphone. The steps are identical if you used the Garmin Earthmate app if you are an inReach user. YOU WILL NEED TO REGISTER A COMPATIBLE GARMIN DEVICE BEFOREHAND. Depending on the region you want maps, you may have fewer options that in other areas. These are the types of maps you have available: Topo North America - this is the Delorme mapset and not the Garmin topo product. 1:24,000 Openstreetmap - this is a user uploaded map, more popular outside of the US. You will see people uploading government or other open data sources. Usually pretty good quality. USGS Quad sheets - these are scanned paper topo maps 1:24,000 Color Aerial - 1m aerial imagery from the NAIP Digital Atlas of the Earth - This is your basemap detail at 1:125,000 Hybrid Maps - map layers that go on top of the Aerial of Quad sheet. This helps visualize things better. You can download the maps available in a region either by vurrent location, existing waypoint or by panning across the map. Maps can be downloaded via WIFI or cell data. You can manage the downloaded map tiles individually by making a layer visible or removing the tile from your device entirely. 🛰️Latest Garmin Products 🛰️ 🛒 Accessories For Your Garmin 🛒 🚴 #FatBike and #BikePacking Gear 🚴 🚛 #Truckcamping Gear List 🚛 🛒AMAZON IDEA LISTS🛒 #garmin #avoidingchores #garminexplore #gpsmap66
