This is our 5th workout in the Boise Experiment. Didn't get much sleep, and feel a little tightness in my muscles. We'll see what happens at the gym. Breakfast I wanted to eat light, make sure I don't toss my cookies while I'm working out. This will set me back calorie wise, but hopefully I can catch up throughout the day. 1. 2 pieces of toast with Adams Peanut Butter 2. green tea Calories 658, Protein 24g (15%), Carbs 62g (38%), Fats 34g (47%) green tea and toast with adams peanut butter green tea and toast with adams peanut butter Workout Man what a workout!!! Today's workout was a repeat of our first workout we did about 20 days ago. We finally cycled through all four (technically 3 because the leg routine is done twice) workouts in Mike Mentzer's HIGH INTENSITY TRAINING THE MIKE MENTZER WAY©. It's wild!! In the last 20 to 25 days we have only worked out 5 times. Even crazier is that the workouts rarely exceed 15 minutes. CRAZY! 1. Pec Dec: 150 lbs 7 reps failure at 8th 2. Hammer Incline Press: 2 plates per side 1 rep failure at 2nd SUPERSET 3. Nautilus Pullover: 170 lbs 6 reps failure at 7th 4. Palms-up Pulldown: 150 lbs 6 reps failure at 7th SUPERSET 5. Sumo DeadLift: 315 lbs 7 reps failure at 8th The workout was absolutely draining! Brutal. Both BigAndy and I went up in weight or reps on every single exercise. I felt I did the best improvement on the deadlift. On my first workout with deadlift (25 days ago after our pre-workouts) I was able to lift 315 for 4 good reps then failed on the 5th rep, but the cadence was way too fast. I was going normal, average Joe rep speed. This time I got 7 reps, slow cadence (4 seconds up, 4 seconds down) and failed on the 8th rep. So I did more reps at a much slower pace. It was awesome! I felt like my hands were going to come off... NOTE: next workout bring some straps. I think I will get more reps with straps. After doing the pull-downs my forearms are so pumped I can't hold my water bottle.
