Condition one: You are a newbie at the gym and have never done any resistance training. During this honeymoon phase you can easily burn fat and build muscle simultaneously. This doesn't last forever, after a year or so of training this quickly becomes incredibly difficult to impossible to do. At this stage this is simply not practical. Condition two: You are overweight Overweight people have a tendency of being able to build muscle whilst burning fat at the same time. The higher your body fat percentage the easier this seems to be. As you get to lower body fat percentages this phenomenon ceases to exist and you return to the realm of normal people. Condition three: Someone who has de-trained People who have previously worked out and have lost their gains are able to build muscle and burn fat at the same time. They can quickly rebuild back to the point in which they stopped training whilst losing fat. Once they reach their previous state they hit a brick wall and have to use the typical bulk cut re composition method. Condition four; People on anabolic steroids If you are on the juice you can do this all day everyday.
