Supplies Needed ------------------------- - Cardstock - I used 7 different colors in an "ombre" feel; 14 pages all together (Hobby Lobby) - Yarn - I was initally going to use a dark brown color, but decided to go with a light grey instead. I would recommend using a yarn that doesn't shed, as it will be dangling above your baby. (WalMart) - Thread - I used a taupe colored thread, but I would suggest trying to find a subtle thread that matches your overall color scheme. (Hobby Lobby) - Needle & Push Pin - Aim to have these be about the same thicknes. (Had on hand) - Embroidery Hoop - I used a 10" hoop, but you can use whatever size your heart desires. (Hobby Lobby) - Circle Punch - Unless you would like to cut out hundreds of circles by hand ;) I used a 1.5" circle punch (Hobby Lobby) - Scissors - (Had on hand) - Key Ring - I bought a couple different sizes, not knowing which one I would use, but went with a larger size to easily glide into the ceiling hook. (Hobby Lobby) - Ceiling Hook - Make sure this is very secure as a safety precaution. I went to a local hardware store to find mine. (Mendards) - Ornament - This is definitely optional, but I wanted to tie in Landon's "world explorer" nursery theme into his mobile so I decided to incorporate this globe ornament. (Francesca's Collections) - Fishing Line - Or you may use yarn/thread if you prefer, but I wanted the look to be a little more seamless so I opted for simple fishing line. (Had on hand) - Glue Gun - Also optional, but I would recommend using one if you're a perfectionist like me ;) (Had on hand.....sort of) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Hello, my name is Kaylie Janae and welcome to my channel! Here's a little bit about me: My husband and I were married on September 7th, 2014 and welcomed our sweet baby boy, Landon Levi, into the world on December 28th, 2014. We decided as a family not to show him on Youtube too frequently, but he may be a surprise guest in a video or two. Hopefully you can understand. I am priveleged to get the opportunity to be a stay at home mom, and have a passion for interior design, beauty, animals, vegetarianism, mommyhood, and of course Youtube! My channel showcases these interests in an array of videos, that I hope you enjoy! I truly wish I could upload more frequently, and am making it a goal for the future :) Thanks for stopping by and please subscribe if you'd like to see more from me! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - *INSTAGRAM* http://instagram.com/kaylie_janae *TWITTER* https://twitter.com/JanaesDayBeau *PINTEREST* http://www.pinterest.com/janaesdaybeau/ - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - There are lots of different blog tutorials out there for these ombre mobiles, but I found this one the most inspirational and put my own twist on it: http://www.merelymothers.com/2013/09/01/diy-mobile/
