This is the Car Buyers Guide Skoda Octavia 2017 review on roads in Ireland. The facelifted Octavia is raising some eyebrows because of the split in the head lights to the front. Apart from that, the appearance of the updated Octavia has not changed much (a revised grille and a slightly more sculpted bonnet). Daragh Ó Tuama is driving the 2.0 TDI version of the car. We have driven the excellent 1.0 TSI engine of this vehicle (pre-facelift) before and you can see the written review here: https://www.cbg.ie/new-car-review-details/skoda-octavia-1-0-tsi-new-car-review. The Skoda Octavia and its 2.0 TDI engine will probably be a favourite among taxi drivers who can regularly open the engine up. The engine itself can be noisy - which is one of the reasons as to why we'd prefer the 1.0 TSI. We have also driven the Skoda Octavia vRS and the Scout at their international launch in Austria. Written reviews can be found below and the link to the video review can be found in the video. The Skoda Octavia is proving to be an extremely attractive package to all sorts of drivers in Ireland. It doesn't look as good as the Superb, the Golf or even the Mazda3, but at the same time, it's hardly an ugly duckling. The interior gives excellent space and comfort, while the boot offers loads of space!
