I used the exact same recipe in 2012 and beat out 8 other peoples chili recipes in that chili cook off. Here's the Award Winning Chili Recipe: I've omitted the taco seasoning. It's not necessary. Ingredients: - 1 lb of hamburger - 1 lb of pork sausage - 1 can of Rotel - 1 can of kidney beans - 2 cans of chili beans - 1 jar of chili sauce (12 ounces) - 1 jar of medium salsa (or homemade if you prefer) - 1 medium onion chopped - 1 green pepper chopped - 1 Tbl mince garlic - 3 Tbl chili powder - 1 Tbl Cumin - 1 Tbl black pepper - 1 Tbl salt (or to taste) - 1/2 Tbl tabasco (or to taste) Directions: Brown Hamburger, add to crock pot. Brown sausage, add to crock pot. Saute onion and green pepper, add to crock pot. Add all of the remaining ingredients to the crock pot. Cook for 2 hours or longer (longer is better).
