Linked Video & Audio means that the tracks stay together when you move them as if they are grouped together. This is so the audio and video stay in sync. The Problem: What happens if your clips will not link when you drag them in from the bin or you select 'Link' yet they do not stay together? This tutorial will show you: How to quickly tell if your video and audio layers are linked together How to fix the issue of clips not linking The Fixes: #1: To quickly tell if video and audio layers are linked, looked for the (V) on the top of any video track. If you do not see the clip name, click on the Wrench and check 'Show Video Names' Side Tip: In the Wrench, if you click 'Show Audio Names' you will see the letter (A) on the audio track if that track is Linked with a video clip. Fix #2: In the top left corner of the Timeline look for the Wrench. Two icons to the left you should see a litte Upward arrow icon. Click that and it will turn blue when enabled. This is 'Linked Selections' and is the secret to Linking video and audio clips on the timeline.
